I had an opportunity to do a bit of studio band photography (an opportunity that was unfortunately missed due to lack of funds) and was doing a little bit of research in techniques and such..

Ok, so through my surfing I don’t know how I found this, but it had me mildy amused for a few hours.. The Hall of Douchebags

Basically this is taking the mick out of cliche band photos.. everything from your average brick wall (and believe me, there are quite a few of them in there!) to train track shots.. I actually had to stop at some point and remind myself that someone actually thought it was a good idea at the time. Although some of the commentary is a bit harsh, others had me in hysterics.. but hey, they brought it on for themselves!

Massacred dreams..

For those of you that are fans, I need not mention who these brightly coloured chaps are. For those that are a little bit more confused, this here is The Brian Jonestown Massacre.. and if you haven’t heard them yet, tisk! Last.fm describes them as “Their sound is heavily influenced by the psychedelic sounds of the 1960s, but also carries influences from shoegaze, jangle pop, garage rock, and lo-fi sonorities. They are said to be the best 60’s revivalists of the day.” But I would just say, they are absolutely awesome.

Anyway, as luck would have it, they are touring. And, in fact, are coming to the UK. AFTER I BLOODY LEAVE IT! Yes, on July 16th they will be playing London, and if you don’t have tickets, you best get ‘em.. and they’re only £15! AAAAAAARRRRG!
